To create a visual graphic to inform guests and prospective visitors of favorite sights and activities there are to do in Taos, New Mexico. This was to be used as an evergreen blog and sent as an email.
Taos, New Mexico is arguably the hidden soul of the west, an art community filled with outdoor adventure, cultural diversity, and home to a World Heritage Site. Its landscape extends from the encompassing Rocky Mountains to the Rio Grande Gorge and offers everything from a world-class ski resort to white water rafting. Although tourism accounts for a large portion of this community’s revenue, its popularity is still relatively low compared to other ski resorts and desert destinations.
To provide a well-rounded depiction of Taos, New Mexico and its attractions I made a list of the most notable activities, awe-inspiring places, and landmarks and split them into like groupings. I researched each item and read through visitor blogs and forums to gauge interests outside of what I knew. After selecting the key places I selected a style I thought would highlight the information well and drew out a rough sketch of each element and it’s layout. After presenting to the graphic designer I did a more refined sketch and passed it to her. She took each element of my design and made the graphics in illustrator and then laid them out in In Design.
