To create a visual graphic to pair along with a press release and blog with easier ways for individuals to make environmentally conscious decisions during the summersummer.
As part of Utah's Department of Environmental Quality's mission to safeguard Utah's air, land and water they have a responsibility of keeping the public informed. Many of the ways they do this is through press releases of recent policy updates, natural disasters, and research studies. While they use balanced regulation to keep Utah safe, many of the environmental factors are dependent on citizen participation. The idea for this piece was to create something that was concise, graphically captivating and had clear call to actions that could be distributed through social media, press releases and news congregates.
To create this piece, I first wrote the long form blog which took 9 of the most effective, easy to follow and not always mentioned tips that Utahn's should consider incorporating into their daily lives. After I outlined the tips I decided to use the visual style of colorful illustrations paired with distinct typography, color palate, voice and tone and messaging that is consistent with the DEQ brand.
